Software-
Basically software is a set of instructions that help a computer to perform its tasks, which are multitasking. The name given to these sets of instructions is program. If the set of instructions is large then it is called a system. Computers depend on these instructions for computerized work to be performed with the help of software’s and hardware’s. Software’s such as word processors, spreadsheets, graphic tools, email systems, drawing tools and games are used round the world by people of all ages. There are operating systems, which are required for a program to activate. Compilers help to translate a program from high-level language into machine languages. A database program helps to keep track of the data and where it is stored and it makes it easier to retrieve the data when required. The networking software helps and provides support to the computers in order to interact with one another like when a software is running on a network of computers.

Like they say the hardware part of a soft heart protects the computer the soft heart being the software.
